Local Realtor Welcomes New Madisonville Agent
Voted the 2008 Funniest Person in Madisonville, Texas, new area agent Jimmye Kay Locander keeps her clients laughing and confident in her friendly, professional real estate services. "I truly care about people's needs, and I've found that humor goes a long way in making them feel comfortable in working with an agent," she said.
Locander entered real estate several years ago because she enjoys meeting new people and helping them explore their dreams. "I don't think I've ever met a stranger," Locander explained. As a specialist in ranches large and small, she says she's looking forward to bringing buyers and sellers together in Houston, Madison, and Leon counties.
A native Texas and Midway resident, Locander is an awarded equestrian in the hunter jumper and show jumper categories. She is also a registered whipperin in the no-kill long acre hunt. Enjoying all equestrian events, Locander includes trail-riding and show hunting in her activities. Locander said her neighbors can often find her up early caring for her four horses and other animals she has rescued.
Puppies and ponies aren't the only ones getting the nice treatment from Locander. She was voted 2007 2nd Nicest Person in Madisonville.
Locander will be working at the Coldwell Banker Pat Dickey, Realtors office in Crockett, Texas. She said she's integrated real estate with her equestrian skills using the well-known hunt cry, "House, tally ho!"
"We are so excited to have Jimmye Kay join our team; she brings a refreshing enthusiasm and genuine desire to do a good job for her buyers and sellers," Dickey commented.
You can reach Jimmye Kay Locander at her office -936.544.8100 or on her cell 936.661.0958.
Crockett's Crimson Clover Coverage

Carpeting many fields in Houston County is the Crimson clover (Trifolium incarnatum), also known as Italian clover, which is a species of clover in the family Fabaceae. The species name incarnatum means "blood red".
In Houston County, crimson clover is widely grown as a protein-rich forage crop for cattle and other livestock. It can typically be found in our forest margins, fields and along our roadsides. Check out FM 3187 off 21E for a beautiful example of field coverage.
It is sown as quickly as possible after the removal of a grain crop. It is found to succeed better when only the surface of the soil is stirred by the scarifier and harrow than when a ploughing is given. It grows rapidly in spring, and yields an abundant crop of green food, peculiarly palatable to live stock. It is also suitable for making into hay. Only one cutting, however, can be obtained, as it does not shoot again after being mown.
Who Says Nothing Lasts Forever?
You've heard about it. You've read about it. Now see it even in the tiniest Post Offices in Houston County, Texas. It's the Postal Service's newest consumer innovation — the Forever stamp. The stamp was previewed this time last year at the National Postal Forum, the premier trade show for advertising, marketing and mailing executives. Featuring the Liberty Bell image and the word "forever," the stamp is good for mailing one-ounce First-Class letters anytime in the future — regardless of price changes. The Forever stamp is currently on sale for 41 cents.
"When the Forever stamp first came out, people were more curious about it than anything," says Greg Kazmierczak, Officer in Charge at the Crockett Post Office.
He added that sales have been steadily increasing, and that he's expecting a strong increase in sales next month when stamp prices go up to 42 cents. "People can really see the benefit then," Kazmierczak explained.
